That towel seems very sure of itself about the correct pronunciation of scones. I pronounce it the way my Grandparents - who are Manchester/Blackpool born and bred - do, and deem this the correct way! I might have to create a rival towel: scones not bones??? Scones not groans/moans? Scones not...sloanes? x

I think it's scone as in gone! But you should totally create a rival towel. I can't think of any military terminology ending in -one though.
